When to use it

Leaderboard visualizations, live ranking dashboards, or ambient data-story loops where rank changes need to feel legible and smooth.

When not to

Contexts needing real data binding — values are randomly generated. Not suitable for static reports or light-background UIs (background hardcoded dark teal).

Working with an AI agent

Every component ships agent-ready metadata. An example instruction for this one:

Change the labels array to ['ALPHA','BETA','GAMMA','DELTA','EPSILON','ZETA','ETA'], set AC to '#ff6b6b' for a red accent, and increase dur from 92 to 140 for a slower transition. Theme: dark tokens live in :root, the light variant in :root[data-theme="light"]; ?theme=light or a {type:'forever:theme'} postMessage switches at runtime.

Known limitations

  • Values are randomly generated — no real data binding
  • Background color hardcoded in CSS and BG constant; must change both
  • Click only triggers newRound during hold phase (phase===1), not during transition
